YOGA AND WELL BEING
In the yogic culture, Shiva is not known as a god, but as the Ādiyogi or the first yogi – the originator of yoga. He was the one who first put this seed into the human mind. The Ādiyogi brought the possibility that a human being need not be contained in the defined limitations of our species. There is a way to be contained in physicality but not to belong to it. He said; “You can evolve beyond your present limitations if you do the necessary work upon yourself". That is the significance of the Ādiyogi.
The classes are revitalising and rejuvenating and incorporate the traditional form of Pranayama (breathing technique), Savasan (relaxation), Dhyana (meditation) and Chanting. The classes are specifically designed to build a healthy balance of flexibility, strength, agility and poise. I emphasise on teaching one’s mind to relax in postures irrespective of whether the pose is easy or challenging. All postures are held for a long period of time enabling one to have a deeper understanding of the inner workings of the body. The classes will leave you feeling calm, stretched and with a sense of fulfilment. You will be sure to feel a difference in your body and mind.
